How do I select a charitable organization to support when shopping on AmazonSmile?
On your first visit to AmazonSmile (smile.amazon.com), you need to select a charitable organization to receive donations from eligible purchases before you begin shopping. They will remember your selection, and then every eligible purchase you make at smile.amazon.com will result in a donation.
Men Creating Peace asks for your help to expand our program and offer scholarships to clients who cannot afford tuition. We are a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization.
Year after year, generous supporters like you have enabled our dedicated staff to meet the unique needs of men in our program. Your support will enable us to strengthen our ties with the community, and our partner agencies, to increase the range of services that we offer.
Men Creating Peace was founded by Devon Gaster, a graduate of the manalive™ program, and certified facilitator with 15 years experience. Manalive™ was one of the very first models in the country for re-education of men and serves as a model within the domestic violence field. We receive calls from all over Northern California requesting information about our program.
Men Creating Peace has been offering our violence prevention classes at Laney College since 2007, funded solely through our class tuition and donations. Our program is a valuable resource that should be available for men and teens. While we plan over time to continue to expand the program, our main focus now is to insure that Men Creating Peace continues with a high quality staff and innovative information for which we are known.
To this end, we seek to:
- Expand services for Veterans
- Develop an elder abuse curriculum
- Redesign violence prevention curriculum
- Provide scholarships for participants unable to afford weekly classes
- Legal and accounting costs
- Independent annual audit
- Publication expenses
- Funding for future community events and trainings
Your donation will support the Men Creating Peace initiatives highlighted above. You may also designate your contribution to provide a partial or full scholarship for one or more men who cannot afford the program fees. Your donation will change lives.
