Our Approach

One of the major contributing factors of domestic violence is that the perpetrator blames their victim(s) for their violence. MCP, through accountability and advocacy, supports participants to take responsibility for their abusive behavior(s). Participants in the program gain tools which empower them to stop their own violence. Through negotiating boundaries and agreements, they learn how to create healthy relationships. Participants in the program support one another to stop manipulating, insulting, raging, threatening, and assaulting as a way to get their needs met.

Men Creating Peace is committed to finding collaborative strategies to resolve the problem of violence in our society.

Our Mission

To help men gain new coping strategies, develop healthy relationships, and create more peace in their lives through accountability and advocacy.

Our services support individuals seeking to address harmful behaviors and foster personal growth. We assist those who are motivated to make meaningful changes in their attitudes and beliefs. Clients may be self-referred or referred by legal professionals, counselors, therapists, educators, employers, community leaders, or mediators. The initial consultation is free, and fees are offered on a sliding scale.

Presenter/Keynote Speaker

With 28 years of experience in violence prevention and restorative justice, our team continues to present at conferences and speaking engagements nationwide. Recent appearances include a keynote speech at the Ever Forward Club’s Annual Young Men’s Conference in Oakland, CA. Upcoming engagements include the Family & Domestic Violence Education Conference in Princeton, NJ.

Program Development/Staff Trainings

We are excited about the opportunity to share the Men Creating Peace program model and curriculum with violence prevention organizations across the United States, Canada, and throughout the world. Many intervention and education programs can benefit from this powerful approach to healing and working with individuals who have caused harm through abuse and aggression.

Curriculum

After training your team in the Men Creating Peace program model, printed client manuals are available as needed. There are no restrictions on reselling these manuals to participants, allowing organizations to integrate them into their specific programs as needed. However, reproduction or duplication without the consent of Men Creating Peace is not permitted. This ensures the integrity and effectiveness of the curriculum while supporting its sustainable use in violence prevention and restorative justice efforts worldwide.
